Swiss Design Award 2023

The new ‘Park Chair’ from the garden furniture range has received a national design award.

We are absolutely delighted to have won a Swiss Design Award 2023! From over 500 entries, 29 projects across various design disciplines were shortlisted. The new ‘Park Chair’ by Moritz Schmid for Embru is one of seven winning projects.

With the ‘Park Chair’, the long-established Swiss company Embru is launching a new garden chair after more than 70 years. Moritz Schmid was commissioned to design a chair that would enhance the existing classic garden furniture collection and meet the requirements of contemporary contract furnishing. The formal character of the ‘Park Chair’ is defined by the higher position of the rear legs and their arched shape. This elegant chair, made from tubular steel and sheet steel, is available either hot-dip galvanised (unpainted) or powder-coated in a monochrome colour scheme, and optionally with or without armrests.
