This
simple chair with its unusual name is familiar to anyone interested in
Swiss design history: the School Chair 1255, or
‘Hassenpflug’, is an absolute design classic. It was designed in 1934
by Gustav Hassenpflug. The chair has been produced without
interruption by Embru in Rüti for almost 90 years and has evolved beyond the school
setting to become a universal chair. It can be found in countless
studios, offices, canteens and at kitchen tables.
Embru
is launching the children’s model 1205 in proportionally smaller
dimensions. The large and small Hassenpflug chairs can be ideally
combined, opening up new possibilities for furnishing
classrooms and nurseries. The robust materials can
withstand even the liveliest school classes and are characterised by their durability and
stability.
The new chair has a seat height of 38
cm and is classified in size category 4. This size is suitable for
children between 133 and 159 cm in height. It is available
with wooden parts made from beech plywood and a high-gloss chrome-plated
frame, or in a powder-coated finish.
